Accountant (M/F) International Committee of the Red Cross for Central Africa in Yaoundé

 The delegation of the International Committee of the Red Cross for Central Africa in Yaoundé is looking for a candidate for its services for the position below:

Position: Accountant (M/F)


Duration: CDD (06 months)

Location: Yaoundé-Cameroon

Starting date: As soon as possible For Cameroonian nationals only

Missions / Responsibilities / Activities


Assists with various administrative tasks: drafting letters, document checks, information searches, etc.

Ensures the replacement of the Accountant and the Cashier in case of absence (but not simultaneously);

Ensures the proper keeping of the accounting books under his responsibility:

Controls all payments before submission to the administrator;

Verifies that payment requests (Bank and Cash) have been signed and that all supporting documents are complete

Reconciles bank and transfer accounts from different account statements

Controls expenditure and supporting documents from National Societies and follows up on related comments

Work in close collaboration with the Cooperation department to ensure proper monitoring of the accounts of national companies

Ensures follow-up on VAT refunds: copies all payments requiring VAT refunds. prepares documents for submission to the

Ministry of External Relations, monitors the progress of the file with the state services concerned

Follows the services and billing of telephone services, including reimbursements of private calls of employees, as well as expenses related to travel (Welcome unit) and national companies;

Corresponds directly with the sub-delegations for support and support of their accounting


Skills / Requirements / Qualities


Bac +2 in accounting/business management; 02 to 03 years of professional experience in a similar position

Very good knowledge of computer tools (Word, Excel. PowerPoint, etc.);

Able to treat information confidentially: Bilingual English/French;

Ability to analyze and synthesize and to work in a team;

Ability to adhere to general ICRC principles and procedures

Candidate profile


Experience Level: Experienced

Years of experience: Between 1 year and 3 years

Minimum Academic Level: Bac+2 (BTS / HND,…)
