Job Description

Bongalo is looking for a rockstar business development manager, to identify new business opportunities in order to generate revenue, improve profitability and help the business grow. This is an opportunity to evolve in a fast-growing multi-stakeholder ecosystem and grow with a really young company through lots of opportunities.

Key Responsibilities


Research and identify market opportunities:

Keep up-to-date with the travel, tourism, and tech market, attend events, publish reports, identify trends

Identify new cities and areas for expansion – or new ways of reaching existing targets in Cameroon.

Close deals with hosts: lead the process from lead generation to contract signature, including phone and face-to-face follow-up.

Close partnerships with African-based companies with accommodation needs to drive revenue growth. Draw up simple client contracts – depending on the kind of partnerships or engagementsStrongly contribute to Bongalo’s marketing strategy to increase awareness and drive growth: influencers’ strategy, events, etc.

Can use Slack, Trello, Google Workspace, and other productivity tools.

Can excellently manage your time, communicate effectively, and lead.

Are strategic, creative, innovative, and collaborative.

Have some past experience in this role or similar positions.


What to expect


You’ll usually work a regular 9 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday week, though you may on occasion have to work longer to meet a project deadline or when attending an event or conference.

You’ll work in an office environment, but will frequently travel within the day for face-to-face meetings with customers and other business partners.

You’ll be expected to dress smartly, especially for meetings, though slightly more relaxed business casual attire may be acceptable at other times.

Occasional out-of-town travel may be required on company cost.
