CONSTRUCTION PROJECT MANAGEMENT JOB DESCRIPTION


Job Description


We are looking for an experienced construction project manager to plan and oversee a wide range of construction projects from start to finish. You will organize and supervise construction procedures and ensure that they are carried out in a timely and efficient manner.
An excellent construction project manager must be familiar with all construction methodologies and procedures and be able to coordinate a team of professionals from different disciplines to achieve the best results. The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind and great organizational skills.
The goal will be to ensure that all projects are delivered on time according to requirements and without exceeding the budget.


Responsibilities:


• Collaborate with engineers, architects, etc. to determine project specifications.
• Negotiate contracts with external suppliers to enter into cost-effective agreements.
• Obtain permits and licenses from the competent authorities.
• Determines resource requirements (labour, equipment and materials) from start to finish taking into account budget limitations.
• Plans all construction operations and plans for intermediate phases to ensure deadlines are met.
• Acquire equipment and materials and monitor inventory to address deficiencies in a timely manner.
• Hire contractors and other staff and allocate responsibilities.
• Supervises the work of labourers, mechanics, etc. and guides them as required.
• Evaluates progress and prepares detailed reports.
• Ensure compliance with all health and safety standards and report problems.


Qualifications:


• Proven experience as a construction
project manager• In-depth understanding of construction procedures and principles of materials and project management.
• Familiarity with quality and health and safety standards.
• Good knowledge of MS Office.
• Familiarity with construction/project management software.
• Exceptional communication and negotiation skills.
• Excellent organizational and time
management skills• A team player with leadership abilities.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, building science or relevant field.
• A PMP or equivalent certification will be an advantage.
