patterns sustainable For our Country Program office in Cameroon, we are looking for two dynamic and committed Field Biologists Volunteers for the implementation of the activities of its Jengi TRIDOM program in the Boumba-bek National Park (PN BB).

Based in: Yokadouma;
Duration One year (1 year)
Mission of the department:
Wwf CCPO's mission is to ensure the sustainable management of natural resources in the South-East of Cameroon through participatory management practices involving all stakeholders and contributes to the improvement of the living conditions of local populations.
Main functions:
The field Biologists Volunteers will be responsible for collecting all biomonitoring data in the field in collaboration with the MINFOF team and local assistants (monitoring of large and medium mammals, monitoring of clearings by wildlife, wildlife monitoring by photography traps, data collection on human-wildlife conflicts, mapping elephant corridors, etc.)
In this capacity, he works under the direct technical supervision of the Park Assistant of the PNBB of JengiTRIDOM, and to some extent of the Program Executing for related activities: • Produce periodic Tdr and a budget for field activities;
• Provide technical assistance to the implementation of the biomonitoring protocol;
• Ensure the implementation of the continuous ecological monitoring system in the targeted clearings of the PNBB with data collection according to scientific protocols;
• Participate, under the supervision of the PNBB Assistant Park, in the organization and management of the appropriate use of the biomonitoring database and related tools and ensure the adequate storage of terrai materialn ;
Participates in periodic planning sessions to identify information needs and provide technical support;
• Participate in the collection of data on human-wildlife conflicts to update the 1
database of
the Jengi TRIDOM program;
• Produce concise and well-written field reports on a regular basis.
Profile:
Functional skills required
• Holder of a bachelor's degree or engineering degree in one or more of the following fields: Forestry and Wildlife or any other related specialization; • Minimum 6 months of experience in biomonitoring activities in the field;
• Strong interest in nature conservation.
Skills and competencies required
• Willingness and ability to work in a remote area with little supervision;
• Field person: enthusiastic for long missions in the forest in difficult and remote conditions;
• Excellent physical condition;
• Adaptability, flexibility;
• Proven knowledge of the use of GPS and GIS-related software, Cybertracker/SMART and related tools;
• Good knowledge of camera trapping, wildlife observation and photo analysis;
• Proven statistical and data analysis skills (Excel, other relevant software);
• Ability to manage databases;
• Computer literacy, knowledge of data analysis software;
Excellent written skills; • Adhere to WWF's values: Respect, Courage, Integrity and Collaboration.
Working Relationships:
Collaborate internally
with other key WWF technical staff as part of the Jengi TRIDOM program.
Externally
Work in collaboration with the Conservation Department, local community assistants (ASMO and IPLCs).
