PSYCHOSOCIAL NURSES WORKING AT A ONE STOP SHOP (13)
Duty Stations:
- Yaoundé: Military Hospital (06);
Ebolowa: Military Medical Center(01);
- Douala: Military Hospital(03);
- Edéa: Infirmary of the RASA (01);
- Buea: Military Medical Center (01)
-Garoua: Military Hospital (01)
Tasks and responsibilities:
- Reception and orientation of customers within the department;
- Ensure the triage and archiving of patient records in their respective cohorts;
- Take the vital parameters of all clients at each visit to the clinic;
- Update the customer's address at each appointment (telephone contacts and
residence);
- Draw up cartographic indices of all clients of their cohorts;
- Offer ICT to generate sexual contact to clients who have never benefited from
ICT in their cohort;
- Ensure that the files of all clients include the updated VL results,
the evaluation of compliance;
- Transcribe VL results on clinical follow-up forms into
patient records;
- Perform an assessment of adherence by pill counting at each physical visit
and by telehealth, and document it in clients' medical records;
- Follow up with customers remotely to remind them of
medication renewal appointments and VL tests;
- Carry out individual and group education sessions;
- Conduct at least one telephone conversation to strengthen the customer-supplier relationship with each client between two physical visits to the clinic;
- Ensure that all clients in their cohort have telephone contacts from the PSW and
the OSS psychosocial nurse;
- Carry out home visits approved by the site manager/
zone coordinator;
- Update appointment and follow-up records daily;
- Identify and follow daily all customers who do not respect their appointments using the tools in place;
- Ensure proper handling of the registers made available to you;
- Send daily and weekly activity reports to the M&E Supervisor, Retention
Supervisor and Regional Technical Coordinator;
- Be open and committed to following supervisors' instructions and advice and
align with innovations.
Professional Qualifications/Requirements:
- Holds a degree in nursing or a health-related field with at
least three years of experience in providing HIV services (counselling and
testing services), working primarily with military personnel with demonstrated results;
- Good knowledge of HIV management in Cameroon (This will be tested).
- Good counselling skills (good communication,
reporting, active listening, problem solving, empathy, open-mindedness and
self-awareness);
- Ability to communicate in French, English and local languages;
- Ability to establish a solid therapeutic relationship with the client;
- Ability to work in a multicultural environment.
